We are seeking experienced teacher who has good curriculum knowledge and is an effective pedagogical leader. You will possess culturally responsive classroom management skills, an ability to build positive relationships with all stakeholders and be committed to improving outcomes for students attending the Taupo Alternative Education School.

Alternative education is a short term intervention which supports students who have been alienated from mainstream education.  It re-engages students in a meaningful learning programme targeted to their individual needs and supports them to transition back to mainstream school, further, training or employment.

Alternative education aims to support students with:

·         Attendance and engagement

·         Academic achievement

·         Personal and social skills based on the curriculum key competencies

·         Re-engagement back into secondary school or further education
