Learning Support Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of our progressive, collaborative, and vibrant Taupo Kāhui Ako. Taupo Kāhui Ako is seeking a full time learning support coordinator to work collegially within our region. The successful candidate will be an experienced teacher who is passionate about making a difference for students. The position will be based at Taupo-nui-a-Tia College but will also coordinate across the wider region.


The successful applicant will be able to:

  • Have an innovative growth mindset who is able to listen and respond to learning needs across sectors and worksites and have an awareness of transition challenges. You will also collaborate closely with other learning support coordinators, teachers, and in-school learning support teams to lift levels of support for at-risk learners.
  • Demonstrated successful experience in working with and including children and young people with learning support needs in the classroom 
  • A sound knowledge, commitment to, and understanding of the learning support system and the Learning Support Action Plan priorities across our ECE, Primary and Secondary schools
  • Understanding of te ao Māori
  • A current teaching practising certificate and relevant teaching qualification 
  • Met professional standards relevant to their current position.
  • The ability to work as part of a team is essential.



Please note this role will have you employed by the School Board of Taupo-nui-a-Tia College and based with two or three other Learning Support Coordinators from within the Taupō Kāhui Ako.
