Te Ara Hou is a specialised programme at Manurewa High School to support disengaged students to re-engage with their learning. The programme fosters a sense of cultural identity and whanaungatanga while allowing aakonga to be mentored by teacher aide support to unlock their potential to be happy, proud and confident learners. 

We seek a skilled and motivated teacher who is: 

• Able to relate to our rangatahi from a cultural and social perspective

• Passionate about helping young people
• Passionate about teaching and learning
• Experienced in helping rangatahi to unlock their potential to learn
• A Team player and willing to be supportive of a team culture
• Willing to be part of the Te Ara Hou learning programme
• Experienced or willing to be supported in a digital learning environment
• Willing to make a commitment to the school’s restorative and culturally sustaining practices
• Interested in fostering whaanau and community relationships
