The (Learning Support Coordinator) LSC role is a permanent full time, dedicated role. This role works with and influences the School’s leadership teams in order to support learning outcomes for our aakonga.
This permanent role that will:
Support aakonga/students through building an inclusive school or kura and cluster environment which encourages participation, progress and successful transitions.
Support kaiako/teachers in schools and kura to lift their capability to better meet the needs of learners, and to strengthen their connections with early learning services.
Support parents and whaanau to build better relationships of understanding around learning support and establishing points of contact if needed.
Work alongside other LSCs across the cluster and connect with the Learning Support Facilitator and wider agencies.
Work with school or kura leadership team to influence and encourage them about ensuring the needs of all students receive the appropriate support to enhance their learning and progress.

The terms and conditions of this appointment are contained in the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement.
Criteria:
To be considered for the position, applicants must be registered teachers, and have if not all, most of the following:
A commitment to te ao Maaori and Te Tiriti o Waitangi that is actualised in your pedagogical leadership, practise and culture of care.
The ability to work collaboratively with aakonga/students, kaiako/teachers, teacher aides, whaanau and external agencies including RTLB to support the learning journey of aakonga in ways that recognise their identity, language, and culture.
The ability to form effective collaborative relationships with other LSCs and senior staff.
The ability to lead or influence skill development with staff within the kura/school.
A current teaching practising certificate and relevant teaching qualification.
Met professional standards relevant to their current position.
