Rutherford College is looking for a dynamic person to take on the role of Student Engagement Coordinator in a part time capacity. This role requires a person with the ability to build strong relationships and develop a high level of trust with students, their whanau and other key stakeholders. Ideally, you will have previous experience within this field or in a similar role such as a social worker to be effective and successful. This is a great opportunity for a confident and organised person who is passionate about helping others engage with school in a positive manner.
The Student Engagement Coordinator is responsible for establishing and developing a professional service to assist the school in meeting their targets and responsibilities in relation to raising attendance, investigating truancy and improving punctuality. To be successful, you will be self-motivated, flexible, professional, with the ability to devise and refine strategies to support students who have become disengaged with school.
Ideally you will live local and know the community well and can demonstrate commitment to tangata whenuatanga and Te Tiriti o Waitangi partnership in Aoteraroa New Zealand. We need someone who will be the right fit to foster and grow Rutherford College Tikanga. The heart of the college vision is “to strive for personal excellence”. You must hold a clean, full drivers licence and be willing to be police vetted for this position.
This position is for 30 hours per week, 8.30 - 3.00pm, Monday to Friday during term time only. The start date is negotiable but preferably 4 September. Applications close 02 August at 3pm.
